Peter Schmitt

Strategy

Peter has 3 consuming passions in business: purpose, brand authenticity and impassioned people (one cannot exist without the others). He lives for the thrill of helping clients build tribes with authentic, purposeful brands that inspire people to do something (engage, buy, join, invest...)

Highly focused, tenacious and energetic, Peter has worked globally across a wide range of industries since graduating as a mechanical engineer in 1990. During his first job with Eskom (South Africa's power utility), he was told to slow down.

Rebellious by nature, Peter wants to change the rules.

And when he finds the time he sometimes gets to surf, snowboard, cycle, cook great food, drink good wine, read or travel for pleasure instead of business - with his gorgeous french fiancée, whom he lives with in Joburg.

There is very little Murray hasn’t done in advertising.

In the last 26 years he has worked in some of SA’s top agencies but not Jupiter. Murray’s blue chip account experience reads like a whos’ who of well known brands having worked on the likes of Volkswagen, Audi, Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi Motors, SA Breweries, BOE, Shell, Natbev, Edgars, Willards, Beacon, PG Glass, Unifoods, Knorr, Standard Bank, Gilbeys, Distillers, Safmarine, Warner Lambert, SASKO and Nike to name a few.

His natural creative talent and curiousity has taken him from Ashrams in India to studying at the renowned New York Film Academy. He witnessed 911 first-hand, which he describes as the most soul shaking event and the day his world changed forever.

When he is not carbo-loading with spaghetti bolognaise (favourite!), he can be found on his mountain bike or lying on some beach reading Archeo-astrology or Metaphysics.
